Manila, Philippines, December 1, 2012 - BB Gandanghari, a Filipino actress and androgynous model, who recently made her professional theater debut in Gantimpala Theater Foundation's "Sayaw ng mga Señorita," will star as gay window dresser/prisoner Molina in "Halik ng Tarantula," a Filipino adaptation of Argentine author Manuel Puig's popular novel "Kiss of the Spiderwoman."
"Halik ng Tarantula" producers, Viva Live, an affiliated company of Viva Entertainment Group, and Gantimpala Theater Foundation, are looking for five leading men, 25 to 35 years old, to play the role of Marxist revolutionary Valentin, opposite Gandanghari's Molina.
"Kiss of the Spiderwoman" tells the story of two men in an Argentine prison - one imprisoned for his political ideology (Valentin), the other imprisoned for his homosexuality (Molina) - who met during the military rule in Argentina in the 1970s.
Interested male actors should prepare resume/biodata and 5x7" color photos (full-body, close-up shots).
Audition date and venue will be announced soon.
Viva Live and Gantimpala Theater Foundation's "Halik ng Tarantula," to be directed by theater veteran Soxie Topacio ("Bona," "Bombita"), opens in March 2013.
